Fans of Toyota’s Aurion model are being treated to an upgrade, courtesy of a new Touring SE package that offers new features and is expected to cement the Aurion’s popularity for sales and novated leasing.
More than $1800 worth of new features and systems are included in the Aurion Touring Special Edition, according to Toyota, with the price of the SE model increasing by $1500 as a result. As has been the case with Toyota’s other Touring Special Editions, the AT-X trim Aurion receives 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, a sports grille and new rear spoiler outside, while the interior is upgraded with a premium steering wheel and controls as well as sports pedals. A limited run of 1500 vehicles will be produced until December 2012, which are expected to sell out fast.
Safety and performance
There are no new safety features included in the Touring Special Edition, beyond the impressive features already fitted as standard in the Aurion. These include SRS airbags, traction control and vehicle stability control, while a reversing camera improves visibility and a power driver’s seat improves comfort and provides additional support. Vehicle performance is the same as the standard Aurion range too, powered by a 3.5-litre quad-cam V-6 engine that provides 200 kW of power and 336 Nm of torque, offering combined fuel consumption of 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres.
