We recently received a great email from Tom Marron, Ryan Marron’s father letting us know the the Comedy at The Regal was a big success, raising $7500 to help improve his health.
For those of you that are unaware of what happened to Ryan, he was working as a Police Officer in WA’s far north, in a remote community called Halls Creek when he contracted a rare tropical disease, Murray Valley Encephalitis. This is mosquito borne virus, which infects the brain and can have a potentially fatal outcome. This virus has left Ryan completely dependent, needing assistance with all basic day to day tasks, including but not limited to feeding, dressing, transferring in and out of his wheelchair and is suffering with incontinence.
Here is the email with kind words from Tom:
“I have just been advised by Steve of the total raised at the Comedy night & he advises about $7500 – a terrific effort & greatly appreciated by the Family.
Without people like yourselves, who give their time & money to support a cause, we would not be in Chicago with Ryan. His will to get back to better health is only matched by the will of the people around him from the start of this journey. We have not met but this emphasizes the kindness you have in this difficult time in all our lives connected with Ryan.
Thanks once again.
Tom Marron & Families”
We wish you all the best in future and hope that Ryan’s health will improve on his road to recovery.
