The Renault Megane RS250 has had a facelift and some tweaks under the bonnet. The result is a power boost from 250hp to 265hp – and a new name to match. Coming to Australia this year, you could soon be driving away in the RS265 with reduced costs by looking into novated leasing in Perth.
In sport mode, Renault say the car will go from 0 to 100km/h in six seconds flat and reach a top speed of 254km/h, marking a significant boost in performance for the Megane range.
Renault’s sales went up nearly 50% in 2011, and January 2012 saw exactly the same increase over last January. Renault will be hoping that the release of the RS265 will maintain this trend, with the RS250 having only been on the market for just over a year.
The RS265’s superior performance statistics are certainly appealing. At 254km/h, it is one of the fastest sporty hatches on the market, but it may not be enough to render the RS250 obsolete. Only 0.1 seconds faster than its predecessor from 0 to 100km/h, it may be seen as a disappointment when pricing and specification information is revealed.
