Styling

The inclusion of the Passat CC badge has ushered in a new era for the VW CC, even if some of the exterior styling changes are relatively subtle. The front now features bi-xenon headlights and static cornering lights, as well as stainless steel sill plates and safety head restraints inside the vehicle. As part of Volkswagen’s ongoing commitment to improved safety, the CC also includes a fatigue detection system aimed at combating the problem of driver fatigue on long distance journeys.

Engine Options

The new CC features the same powertrain options as its predecessor, from a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 158 bhp up to a 3.6-litre V6 engine delivering 297 bhp and 258 lb ft of torque. This latter engine can take the CC from 0 to 62 mph in a rapid 5.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 155 mph on the race track. The new CC is still available in diesel, with a 2.0-litre TDI engine giving 138 bhp and with respectable fuel economy for its class of 125 grams of CO2 per kilometre.
